Home description
Feels like brand new: This recently reconstructed home East of Federal in College Park is essentially new construction and features both a swimming pool and a guest cottage. The former home in this location was taken down to just one wall and then rebuilt from the ground up! All permits and inspections were closed out in 2025 ensuring peace of mind for the new homeowners. The main home has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms plus a bonus room that would make a perfect office or den. Split bedroom areas create privacy in this two-story home as one bedroom is downstairs, and one is up the gorgeous modern floating stairway to the upper level. Both levels have full baths to allow you to have one level as your primary and the other for guests. Arriving at 127 Auburn Drive, you are greeted by a welcoming covered front porch complete with a dramatic arched entry. The expansive kitchen island is in contrasting teak-color cabinets by Omega Cabinetry and is perfect for conversations when entertaining guests. You have room for barstools on multiple sides. The downstairs primary suite boasts glass sliders out to the pool area and a walk-in closet. The ensuite full bath in a black-and-white theme has a wide vanity with storage and an open shower. It cleverly has a side door back to the living areas for use as a powder room as well on the main level. In addition to the den downstairs, there is also a nice laundry room with full-sized front-loading washer and dryer. The upstairs is one deep bedroom that runs for over 23' - the full depth of the house - and another full bath. This bath has a deep tub and shower combination and a floating vanity for storage plus an area for linens. Upstairs outdoor living areas are abundant! There is a Juliet balcony overlooking the street, a large rear deck overlooking the pool area, and an even larger rooftop area to the east side for more outdoor living space or future expansion. From 2019 through 2025, this homeowner took what used to be the main house - essentially a 1950s ranch home - and built new. While technically an addition, this labor of love really lives like new construction with everything done during the process (systems, roof, walls, windows, etc.) all new during the project which was completed and closed out in 2025. The metal roof gives the property that classic, tropical style. The two-zoned HVAC system is from 2022 and the home is fully insulated with a high R-Rating for energy efficiency. Between the newer construction, the insulation, the windows and the natural gas for cooking, you can really save on electricity. Out front, there is plenty of off-street parking including a circular drive as well as a long drive down the western side of the property that is long enough to accommodate an RV or boat. Landscape design is well thought out and manages to be quite tropical - including Banana Palms - even though it is xeriscaped to keep maintenance and water usage down. The 120' deep lot - at a spacious 7,800 square feet of land - allows for plenty of outdoor areas including a patio perfect for al fresco dining, a pool with generous surround for chaise lounges and a lovely lawn of artificial turf for low maintenance. The backyard is so very, very private and the pool was re-coated in the last few years. The pool pump is new in 2025. The guest cottage is the perfect place for your company to stay or also makes a fun party cabana when entertaining around the pool. It is a fully functioning studio apartment with enough room for living, dining, and sleeping. The kitchenette has a stackable washer and dryer for your guest's convenience. The full bath has a glass-enclosed shower. College Park is a lovely waterfront neighborhood bordering West Palm Beach at the northern tip of Lake Worth Beach where each street is named after a prominent American college. The neighborhood was developed starting in the 1920s but has a lovely diversity of architecture from Spanish Missions to Key West Cottages to Modern designs. This property is less than a dozen houses from the waterfront on the lovely and wide Auburn Drive. When people come to visit, they are enamored by the double wide streets and how quiet the neighborhood is. Just down the street, a block away, there are two inlet parks (public) that open to the Intracoastal Waterway - a perfect spot to put in a kayak or just sit and relax and watch the boat traffic pass by. North Lakeside Drive is the street where everyone comes to walk their dogs, ride bikes, rollerblade and skateboard to and from town. It is a 15-minute leisurely bike ride passing the golf course and waterfront homes to artsy downtown Lake Worth Beach with fun shops and beloved restaurants then right over the Lake Worth drawbridge to the beach, never having to get on a busy road. Going north, it is just a 10-minute car or bike ride to the center of downtown West Palm Beach via Flagler drive with its long waterfront promenade. Intracoastal mansions to the left and beautiful views of the water to the right with dedicated bike lanes and wide sidewalk. This neighborhood is really wonderful for those who enjoy the views of the waterway, love long walks, or are avid bike riders.
