Ashcroft is conveniently situated just outside the city of Clayton. Clayton may be the second largest city in Johnston County but thrives on its country feel!
Ashcroft sits right at the entrance of the Neuse River Greenway Trail. The greenway offers 4 miles of 10 foot wide paved trails that begin at the Wake/Johnston County line and parallels the Neuse River under Covered Bridge Road.
You will find the community market open year round and monthly concerts from May-September drawing crowds well over 1,000 people. Let's not forget their huge July 4th celebration each year that's the cities largest town sponsored event of the year! Clayton impresses with their annual Christmas Village and Tree Lighting where thousands of residents gather for various activities and programs and end the night with the town tree being lit.
