- Third-Party Structural Protection: Red Cedar Homes partners with Maverick, a third-party warranty administrator, to deliver 10-year structural coverage. Maverick manages long-term defect claims independently if the builder is unable to do so.
- Strict Structural Defect Criteria: Coverage applies only to physical damage in load-bearing components—such as foundations, beams, girders, and roof framing—that compromises the home’s safety, sanitation, or livability.
- Detailed Thresholds for Defect Eligibility: Foundation wall cracks over 1/8 inch, slab cracks over 1/4 inch, or vertical displacement in excess of 3/16 inch are eligible for repair under specific workmanship standards.
- Surface and Cosmetic Exclusions: Finishes like drywall, trim, veneer, insulation, appliances, and non-load-bearing walls are excluded from structural coverage—even if located near the defect site.
