- Builder-Backed 10-Year Structural Warranty: First America provides direct 10-year structural coverage without a third-party administrator. All coverage is handled by the builder itself.
- Strict Structural Defect Standards: Coverage applies only to actual physical damage to specific load-bearing components that impairs their structural function. Superficial cracks or movement that don’t affect performance are excluded.
- Tiered Coverage Model: The first two years cover workmanship and major systems, while years 3–10 are reserved solely for qualifying structural failures.
- Foundation Failure Criteria Set by Builder’s Engineer: A structural engineer selected by First America must confirm any suspected foundation failure before repairs are authorized.
- Detailed Performance Thresholds: The warranty includes exact specifications for allowable deflections and cracks (e.g., ¼ inch in width or vertical displacement for slabs), providing measurable repair standards.
- Warranty Transfer Requires Registration: To transfer the warranty to a subsequent buyer, a formal acknowledgment form must be signed and filed with First America within 30 days of closing
