- Clear Coverage Timelines: The warranty is structured with two main periods:
- 1-Year Workmanship and Systems: Covers defects in materials and workmanship, including the home's essential systems like heating, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing. This places all major systems under the initial one-year period.
- 10-Year Structural: Protects against defects in the structural elements of the home, such as the foundation, load-bearing walls, and roof sheathing.
- Short-Term Cosmetic/Minor Repair Windows: The warranty provides a very short, specific coverage period of 45 days after closing for minor issues like warped cabinet doors/drawer fronts and drainage blockages.
- Specific Concrete Settling Standard: For non-freezing climates, the warranty provides a measurable standard for concrete settling, covering repairs if garage floors, walkways, or patios settle in excess of 3/8 of an inch for a period of one year.
